Welcome!

I’m an award-winning journalist from Oregon, now based in New York City. I’ve reported features and investigations on rural towns, wildlife, teen influencers, the American West and more. I got my start in journalism at The East Hampton Star and The Forward.

I’m the first-place recipient of Investigative Reporters & Editors’ 2022 Freelance Fellowship and a 2023 journalism fellow for the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE).

My magazine story “Welcome to Lammville” won the 2021 Religion News Association’s Story of the Year and my investigation “Is a Jewish Fraternity Like AEPi Only for Jews?” won third place in 2017 for RNA’s Excellence in Religion Reporting.

My profile of Streit’s Matzo was picked as a Top Five Longreads of the week and my feature “Hitting the Road” was selected as a notable piece in the Best American Travel Writing 2020 anthology.

I served as the VP of Programming for the Newswomen’s Club of New York for six years and graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

When I’m not reporting I can usually be found at the movies, knitting a hat or taking my dog Albert on an adventure.
